Unhappy with the insecurity and expense of renting, many have turned to housing co-ops for a secure, affordable home in a community setting. It doesn't matter who you are: If you want to live in a co-op and are willing to commit to and respect the obligations of membership, as well as benefit from them, you are welcome.
Killarney Gardens, like any co-op, is run by its members for the benefit of the entire community. Members chair and participate on various committees that keep operations running smoothly in partnership with our management company, hired professionals who take care of record keeping, basic maintenance and staffing the office, while the members make all the decisions about finances, and help keep our grounds and buildings in order. Members' contributions of their skills to the co-op are what makes a co-op work and builds a strong community.
